AT is a skill for self-development.
Best known for improving posture and being a safe and effective intervention for back, neck and shoulder pain.
But the heart of the technique is about opening up choices over our micro-actions (physical, intellectual and emotional). These seemingly small choices accumulate and influence how we navigate daily life.
By learning AT you will:
-
Understand what good posture is and how to improve your own
-
Learn how to approach physical tasks and exercise with poise and balance whilst maintaining the integrity of your musculoskeletal system
-
Alleviate back and neck pain (if present) and incorporate a helpful 5 minute practice to "reset yourself" and return to supportive mind and body coordination
-
Increase your enjoyment of the present by engaging with your mind-body awareness
-
Reduce stress on various levels (from unhelpful mental stress to the stress on your joints)
-
Understand the relationship between the support structures in your body and helpful breathing patterns
Lessons will be adapted to be most relevant for individual situations and interests (e.g. running, swimming, scoliosis, pregnancy, physical work involving caring for children or adults, sciatica, instruments and performance).
